Riquelme Returns To Boca Juniors

boca-juniors-soccer-ball.jpgJuan Roman Riquelme returned to Boca Juniors on Monday, calling it "one of my happiest days as a football player."

The former Argentina international is on loan from Villarreal for €1.5 million.

Riquelme retired from international football following last year's World Cup and has since fallen out of favor at the Spanish club.

The playmaking midfielder is not expected to feature in Boca's Copa Libertadores match on Wedneday, but he could make his first Clausura 2007 appearance on Sunday against Rosario Central.

In Riquelme's first stint at La Bombonera from 1996-2002, Boca won three league titles (98A, 99C, 00A), two Copa Libertadores (00, 01), and one Intercontinental Cup (00).
