A FIFA judge has given Javier Mascherano special dispensation to leave West Ham and join Liverpool.

The move will mean Mascherano will have played for three teams in the year starting July 1, which is against FIFA's rules.

Mascherano moved to West Ham from Brazil's Corinthians with teammate Carlos Tevez on the transfer deadline day last August.

The Argentine international received very little playing time at Upton Park.
