Pachuca have made the Final of the Copa Sudamericana after defeating Atletico Paranaense 4-1 on the night, 5-1 aggregate.
Paranaense leveled the aggregate at 1 - 1 just before the half via a Ferreira tap-in.
But a soft penalty in the 57th restored Pachuca's one goal advantage when Christian Gimenez converted the spot kick.
Just seven minutes later, Gimenez' made it two, with a brilliant diving header from a corner.
Things would only get worse for the visitors.
In the 65th, Paranaense's Jancarlos was sent off with a straight red, even though replays showed that not only had he won the ball, but that he did not actually make contact with a diving Gabriel Caballero.
A little over ten minutes later, Damian Alvarez got the home crowd celebrating in earnest as he took a cross field pass from Caballero, blew by his marker and tucked the ball neatly under diving goalkeeper Cleber.
The hosts would add another for good measure when Juan Carlos Cacho took a nice touch from a wonderful 65-yard pass, cut toward the middle, and unleashed a lovely shot into the top corner.
Paranaense's nice run comes to a end on a rough night that had its fair share of controversy.
For Pachuca, some wonderful finishing and spirited performances have them deservedly representing Mexico in the Copa Sudamericana Final.
